Firefighter Frankie recommends keep a minimum of one fire extinguisher on each level of the house.
Fire Fighter Frankie recommends having a fire extinguisher on each level of the house and placed in an
area that is away from or outside of the area where a fire is most likely to occur. For example, you do
not want to have your extinguisher under the sink if it is adjacent to your stove, because you may not be
able to get to it, if there is a fire.
Instead, if you keep the extinguisher in the hallway closet or cabinet in the dining room, you can quickly access it in the event of a fire on the stove or in the kitchen. Likewise, extinguishers should be kept outside of the utility room or laundry room.
